Generation 3 arrives around server Day 105 with Petra (Cavalry), Eric (Infantry), and Jaeger (Archer). This generation introduces the first combat Widget — a hero-exclusive gear skill that provides multiplicative stat bonuses in rallies and garrisons. Petra is the central figure: she’s the non-negotiable cavalry rally leader from Gen 3 onward, accessible to F2P via Hero Roulette, and her Widget is the single best early investment for rally leaders.

Petra

The defining hero of Gen 3. Her Widget — a Rally Squad Attack bonus — is multiplicative, meaning it compounds on top of all your research, gear, and other hero skill bonuses rather than adding to them. This is why Widgets at this tier produce disproportionate power jumps. Petra remains the top Cavalry rally leader through Gen 5, which makes her one of the longest-lasting investments in the entire game.
The Widget only activates when Petra is the rally leader’s hero, not as a joiner. This matters: Petra joiner is weaker than Petra leader. Build toward leading rallies, not just joining them.
Also uniquely strong for Bear Trap (Great Bear Hunt) raids — she’s the non-negotiable hero for that content.

Eric
Class: Infantry | Rarity: Mythic | Accessibility: Hero Recruitment banner, Intel Missions
A balanced, defensive Infantry hero. His three skills cover all the bases: reducing enemy Attack (-20%), reducing incoming damage (-20%), and boosting squad Health (+25%). He doesn’t have a single flashy mechanic like Hilde or Petra but provides consistent, reliable survivability. Particularly strong in Castle Battles and extended KvK engagements where attrition matters.

- Holy Warrior — –20% enemy squads’ Attack
- Conviction — –20% squads’ damage taken
- Exhortation — +25% squads’ Health
Jaeger
Class: Archer | Rarity: Mythic | Accessibility: Hero Recruitment banner, Intel Missions
A high-variance Archer with strong AoE. His signature skill — Fatal Attraction — either deals 300% damage or heals 50% HP on a 50/50 trigger, making him a gamble in theory but strong in practice over enough combat ticks. The Tempest adds a 20% chance for +40% squad damage. Combined with an enemy Lethality debuff, Jaeger brings enough to the table to remain a viable Archer option into Gen 4.

Looking ahead: Generation 4
Gen 4 arrives around server Day 190, alongside the War Academy (unlocks around Day 220) — the most resource-hungry building unlock in the game. All three Gen 4 heroes are Mythic with 3 expedition skills and Widgets: Rosa (Archer), Alcar (Infantry), and Margot (Cavalry).
Start preparing now:
- Stockpile resources for the War Academy — it demands a large burst of materials; start saving construction speed-ups and resources around Day 160
- Begin accumulating Mythic shards (avoid spending on Gen 1–2 heroes from this point forward)
- Rosa is accessible via Hero Roulette and Swordland Showdown shop — identify which route is most efficient for your play pattern
