Mystic Trial

Permanent PvE feature with six rotating dungeons. Push to Stage 10 once in each zone to unlock weekly Misty Crystal income that keeps paying out as long as your account exists.

Mystic Trial is accessed from the Command Center once you’ve unlocked it (Town Center 19, plus a ~3-week server-age requirement on new servers). It’s a permanent feature — there’s no countdown, no end date, and what you accomplish in it pays out forever.

The defining insight, which most players miss: push to Stage 10 once in every zone, and you unlock recurring weekly income from that zone for the life of your account. The grind is front-loaded, not perpetual.

The Raid loop — push once, get paid forever

Clearing Stages 1–10 in a zone for the first time unlocks the Raid function for that zone. From then on, every time that zone is active in the weekly rotation, you can claim a Raid payout without spending an attempt. The payout scales with your highest historical stage clear — roughly one bundle of Misty Crystals per cleared stage, every week the zone is active.

This is the single biggest reason to engage with Mystic Trial. Stage 10 in every zone is the minimum target. Beyond that, every extra stage you push raises your permanent weekly income.

The six zones

A different pair of zones is active each chunk of the week. Each zone reads only one stat system — “overall Power” doesn’t apply.

ZoneActive daysWhat it reads
ColiseumMon–TueHeroes, Hero Gear, Hero Exclusive Gear
Forest of LifeWed–ThuPets and Pet Skills (auto-active)
Crystal CaveWed–ThuGovernor Charms
Knowledge NexusFri–SatAcademy + War Academy tech
Molten FortFri–SatGovernor Gear
Radiant SpireSunAlmost everything — see below

Active zones can be challenged for new progress; inactive zones can still be Raided if you’ve cleared their Stage 10 in the past.

Daily attempts

You get 5 attempts per day per active zone, refreshing at 00:00 UTC. The critical rule: attempts are consumed only on losses. A win advances you to the next stage and costs nothing. That makes every attempt a free RNG roll — always burn all 5, even on stuck stages, because skill triggers and AI variance can break a wall on attempt 4 when attempts 1–3 lost.

Mystic Trial fights don’t cause real troop casualties. There’s no Hospital bill afterward.

Mon–Sat troops are provided; Sunday is your army

For every zone except Radiant Spire, the game hands you Lv. 10 troops. Your trained troop tier is irrelevant Mon–Sat — only your hero, pet, charm, tech, or gear investment matters depending on the zone.

Radiant Spire (Sunday) is the exception. It uses your own trained troops, so troop tier and army size both matter. Don’t be mid-training when Sunday hits — keep your highest tier numbers maxed before the rotation lands on Sunday, or your Spire ceiling drops.

What doesn’t apply

A long list of buffs you’d lean on for normal PvP do nothing in Mystic Trial. Don’t waste them:

Treat the trial as an isolated stat exam. Only the systems each zone reads contribute to that zone’s outcome.

Troop ratios per zone

The community converged on the following Infantry / Cavalry / Archer splits. Use these as starting points and adjust if a specific stage forces a different counter.

ZoneInfantry / Cavalry / Archer
Coliseum50 / 10 / 40
Forest of Life50 / 15 / 35
Crystal Cave60 / 20 / 20
Knowledge Nexus50 / 20 / 30
Molten Fort60 / 15 / 25
Radiant Spire50 / 15 / 35

Universal fallback when unsure: 50 / 20 / 30. Per-zone refinements are improvements on the margin, not game-changers. If you’re still figuring out the system, fall back to the universal ratio and focus on the deeper investment plays below.

Advanced formation: the type-stacked second march

If you’re stuck on a tough stage, the standard counter-meta play is to put a type-specialist hero on March 2 with a deliberately type-heavy composition — for example, a cavalry-specialist hero leading a 60% cavalry march. The hero’s specialty buff scales with the proportion of the matching type in their march, so going wide on a specialist beats a balanced mix when the hero is right.

Another stuck-stage trick: send a deliberately weak sacrificial March 1 into the enemy’s strongest force, then crush the weakened remainder with stacked Marches 2 and 3.

Trial Shop — what to buy each week

The shop refreshes weekly. Spend Misty Crystals on the same priority order regardless of how many you have:

  1. Mithril — highest-priority buy in the game. The Mystic Trial is one of the few sustainable Mithril sources, and Mithril gates most of your gear progression
  2. Development TP Components — gear enhancement materials
  3. Mythic General Hero Shards — slow but steady shard income
  4. Lucky Hero Gear Chest — gear material RNG
  5. Truegold Dust — appears on older servers; relevant if you’ve unlocked Truegold tech
  6. Permanent decoration buffs (Court of Knowledge, Oasis Island decorations) — long-term account-wide stat boosts, but lower urgency than the consumables above

Don’t bank Crystals between weeks. Shop resets, unspent currency doesn’t compound, and the weekly Mithril ceiling is the actual cap on your throughput.

Weekly priorities

Once Mystic Trial is in your routine:

Common mistakes

  1. Stopping after one loss. You have 5 free RNG attempts; failing the first does not mean you’ll fail the rest. Always burn the full 5
  2. Skipping a zone’s active days entirely — you lose both progression and that week’s raid contribution from that zone
  3. Ignoring Charms or Pets because they feel less central elsewhere. Those systems gate two of your six zones, capping weekly Crystal income directly
  4. Mid-training high-tier troops into Sunday. Radiant Spire is the one zone where troop tier matters; finishing a training queue Saturday night beats starting one
  5. Hoarding Misty Crystals between weeks. Shop resets weekly; unspent currency doesn’t roll into a “super buy” later
  6. Running 50 / 20 / 30 on every zone after you’re comfortable. It’s a fine fallback, but per-zone ratios are real improvements when you’re pushing past the universal floor
  7. Burning King’s perks, alliance buffs, or position perks expecting them to apply. They don’t — every PvP buff stack you normally lean on is excluded from this feature
  8. Treating Mystic Trial like a time-limited event. It’s permanent. The cost of skipping a week is one week of Mithril, not a missed opportunity forever — but the cost of skipping every week is a lot of Mithril
