Intel Missions

How the Watchtower's Intel Mission system works — mission types, rewards, 8-hour refresh cycles, and how to time missions for maximum event value.

Intel Missions are repeatable daily activities from the Watchtower building (unlocks at TC7). They are the most time-efficient consistent source of hero shards and speed-ups in the game — and their event interactions make timing them deliberately one of the higher-leverage plays available to both tracks.

TL;DR

  • Run every Intel Mission every cycle — they’re your primary hero shard income
  • Pan’s Falconer skill adds up to +8 extra missions per day at max level; it’s a high-priority F2P investment
  • Command Tactics research (march queues) is the highest-ROI research for mission throughput
  • Hold uncollected missions before Golden Glaives, Alliance Brawl, and KvK Prep events for free bonus rewards
  • Use the Storehouse 12-hour stamina refill before each session to avoid running dry

Priority investments for Intel throughput

  1. Command Tactics (Academy Growth Tree) — unlocks up to 3 extra march queues. More march slots = more simultaneous missions. Guides universally call this the highest-priority research in the game, and Intel Missions are a direct reason why.
  2. Pan — Falconer skill (Skill 1) — adds +2/3/4/6/8 extra daily Watchtower missions at skill levels 1–5. At max, that’s a full extra cycle of missions per day, free. Invest in Pan’s Skill 1 before his other skills.
  3. VIP 6 — adds +1 march queue, reachable F2P in the mid-game (~90,000 cumulative VIP XP at ~350–500 free/day).

Event timing (the highest-leverage play)

Completed missions stay on the map until you collect them — they are not cleared by the next refresh cycle. This creates a deliberate stockpiling window:

Golden Glaives: Each completed mission yields 1 Dim Goldstone when claimed during the event. Complete the 08:00 UTC batch the day before the event opens but do not collect the rewards. When Golden Glaives activates, collect immediately — those complete immediately as Goldstones. Then complete the current cycle. Net: ~16 free Dim Goldstones (≈15 extra Truegold or ~16M Food/Wood) at zero cost.

Alliance Brawl: Each completed mission scores 3,000 points. Time collection to Stage II (Hero Development) and Stage IV (Gear Enhancement) on Tuesday and Thursday for maximum impact.

KvK Prep (Kingdom of Power): Each Watchtower mission scores 6,000 points — one of the best-scoring activities per action in the entire prep phase. Spread missions across all 5 prep days.

Bear Hunt: Beast Hunt missions yield Hunting Arrows. Each member earns ~24 arrows/day; 1,900 arrows are needed to fully upgrade the Pitfall to Level 5 (+25% attack bonus in all Bear Hunt rallies).

TL;DR

  • Intel Missions are equally valuable regardless of spend — the rewards per mission are the same for everyone
  • The spend gap is volume: stamina refills and faster march queue research let spenders run more missions per day
  • Pan’s Falconer skill is worth investing in regardless of spend level — +8 free missions/day at max
  • Time missions to event windows for the same multiplied returns as F2P

Spend levers for Intel Missions

Stamina: 10 stamina per mission march; natural regen is 12/hour. When you need to run more missions than regen allows, stamina costs 100 gems for 10 stamina via VIP shop (vs. 300 gems standard shop). This is situationally worth it during high-value event windows (KvK prep at 6,000 points/mission) but not for routine daily play.

Research speed: Faster Command Tactics research (via speed-up spending) gets you to 4–5 simultaneous march slots sooner, compounding Intel Mission throughput from early server.

Pan investment: Same priority as F2P — Skill 1 (Falconer) first. Faster Master EXP via events and spending accelerates this.

Event timing

Same as F2P — hold uncollected missions before Golden Glaives, Alliance Brawl, and KvK Prep for the multiplied returns. The 6,000 points per mission in KvK prep is worth burning gem-purchased stamina on if you’re competing for Kingdom of Power rankings.

How missions work

The Watchtower refreshes every 8 hours (named windows: 08:00 UTC and 16:00 UTC, plus an implied third cycle). Each cycle provides up to 8 missions baseline, plus any bonus missions from Pan’s Falconer skill. Completing all missions before the next refresh is the goal.

Each march to a mission consumes 10 Governor Stamina. Starting a rally mission costs 25 stamina. Natural stamina regen is 12/hour (288/day). The Storehouse building provides a 12-hour stamina refill — claim it before each session.

Completed missions stay on the map until manually collected. They survive across refresh cycles. This is what makes the event pre-load strategy possible.

In-progress missions persist across refreshes too — if a cycle fires while you’re mid-mission, your progress isn’t lost.

Mission types

Rescue Refugees — Send a march to rescue civilian NPCs. Rewards: speed-up items (after Age of Truegold replaces the original low-tier soldier rewards per July 2025 patch).

Beast Hunt — Hunt wild beasts on the map. Rewards: resources, speed-ups, Hero EXP. Also yields Hunting Arrows for Bear Hunt event Pitfall upgrades.

Bustling Inn Conquest Battles — Hero-led PvE battles inside the Bustling Inn. Requires sending heroes. Once you’ve cleared Conquest Stage 30, you can use Quick Battle when your hero party power exceeds double the enemy’s.

Rewards and how they scale

Rewards scale with Watchtower level and server age:

Watchtower levels up by completing missions — higher levels unlock more missions per refresh and better-quality mission rewards.

Stamina management

Log in at each 8-hour reset to burn the fresh batch. At 8 missions per cycle × 10 stamina each = 80 stamina, natural regen (12/hour over 8 hours = 96) just covers it. Missing the cycle means losing those shards and speed-ups permanently.

The Storehouse stamina refill runs on a 12-hour timer — claim it at the start of each play session.
