Getting started
First contributions to your alliance — and where each track pays off most.
A starting framework for F2P players joining their first alliance. The advice below focuses on showing up consistently — the F2P alliance member’s biggest contribution.
TL;DR
- Daily presence beats burst contribution — log in and contribute every day
- Alliance helps cost you nothing and pay back materially in resources and time saves
- Volunteer for the unglamorous tasks (gathering, contribution sieges) that spenders skip
- Pick an alliance that matches your active hours, not just your power
What to focus on first
Show up. Most F2P players underrate how much consistent daily presence matters to alliance leadership — being reliable is genuinely scarce. Hit your daily contribution quotas, give helps when other members upgrade, and reply on alliance chat.
When alliance events run, contribute what you can. The reward distribution often favors participation over individual rank, so even a modest F2P contribution lands meaningful rewards if the alliance places well overall.
What to skip
Skip alliances that pressure members to spend on packs to remain. There are alliances at your TC level that recruit on activity, not wallet — find one of those.
Where F2P time pays off
Alliance gifts triggered by other members’ purchases give F2P players free shards, materials, and gold over time. Active alliances with even a couple of light spenders deliver real value back to F2P members for nothing more than showing up.
A starting framework for Spenders joining an alliance. The advice below focuses on the spend patterns that benefit the whole alliance, not just your individual ranking.
TL;DR
- Pack purchases that trigger alliance gifts are the highest-leverage spend you make for the group
- Pick an alliance where your spend tier matches; over- or under-spending creates friction
- Coordinate KvK-prep purchases with leadership so spend lands in the right window
- Alliance contribution events have steeper reward curves — burst spending matters there
First moves
Find out which packs in your tier trigger alliance-wide gifts when purchased. Those are the ones to prioritize — your alliance gets shards, materials, and gold every time a member buys, and the whole alliance compounds faster as a result.
Talk to leadership before a big purchase. Some packs are timed to events; others stack with active alliance buffs. A purchase made the night before a KvK can deliver 2× the alliance benefit of the same purchase mid-week.
Where the wallet pays off most
- Packs that trigger alliance-gift drops
- KvK-prep packs that pair with alliance buff stacks
- Contribution-event packs that scale with rank
Common traps
Buying a pack purely for personal Power gain when the alliance is mid-event leaves shared rewards on the table. The same purchase, two days later, would have lifted everyone.
